The name comes from the Greek word "rhodon," meaning "rose," and is also known as "Rose Stone." Its color, which is pink like peach blossoms, has earned it the additional names "Peach Blossom Jade," "Peach Blossom Stone," and "Pink Jade." Despite its name, Rose Feldspar is not a member of the feldspar group, but rather a silicate mineral that resembles feldspar. In simpler terms, Rose Feldspar belongs to the jade family, not the crystal family. It is a silicate mineral primarily found in various manganese ores. Rose Feldspar often forms through regional metamorphism of manganese ores (oxidized manganese and carbonates), in association with opals and quartz. It commonly coexists with manganese-aluminum garnets, dolomite, and other minerals, and can also be found in low-temperature hydrothermal and contact alteration deposits, where it occurs alongside other manganese minerals and sulfides.
